• Biographie:

L'abominable gothique Brian Warner, alias Marilyn Manson, est né à Canton dans l'Ohio aux Etats-Unis. En 1989, il se lie d'amitié avec le guitariste Scott Mitchell. Ensemble, il décide de monter un groupe sous les pseudonymes Marilyn Manson et Daisy Berkowitz. Rejoint par Gidget Gein (basse) et Madonna Wayne Gracy (clavier), le groupe, qui s'appelle à l'époque Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids, enregistre des cassettes et se produit dans des salles avec un look gothique. Trent Reznor de Nine Inch Nails, groupe industriel américain, propose à Marilyn Manson de signer un contrat avec sa maison de disques et de faire sa 1ère partie. Ce dernier accepte et, en 1994, sort son 1er album Portrait of an American Family. Avec l'arrivée à la basse de Twiggy Ramirez, la notoriété du groupe dépasse les frontières de la Floride. Le départ de Daisy Berkowitz n'empêchent pas Marilyn Manson de sortir en 1996 Antichrist Superstar. Sur sa lancée, il sort son autobiographie The Long Hard Road Out of Hell et, en 1998, son 3ème album Mechanical Animals suivi d'un live Last Tour on Earth. Retour fracassant en 2000, avec Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death). En 2002 parait And the Spooky Kids, suivi l'année suivante de l'excellent The Golden Age of Grotesque.
